Intro to my blog on 3D printers 2016
Welcome to my blog, here will lie my ideas, thoughts and opinions of 3D printing. Along the duration of this semester I will post negatives and positives of my subject all while giving my opinion and my thoughts of what 3D printing has and will do for our society today. I have thought about 3D printers and how others perceive them, some people find they are just for little gizmos and toys but these printers on a large scale can make anything from pieces for cars or even another 3D printer. These revolutionary items come with negatives too these machine cost a hefty penny, not only that but they do take time to print just like printers of today they have taken time to perfect and we constantly find new ways of improving them as I assume will be the case with the 3D printers of today. This technological breakthrough will support and greatly improve our medical practices and our medical needs, not only can these printers make and produce prototypes they can even fasten how quickly we are capable or testing these prototypes. Older cars and machines also referred as antiques that are missing pieces that aren't produces nowadays can now start being made in your own basement! 3D printers can make it print any blueprint you give it via your computer. I find these printers can help in making our lives cheaper in the long run, imagine a world where you don't need to go to the store to purchase the missing link to whatever you could be building or fixing all you need to do is plug in your printer and in a few moments you will be given whatever you demand. In just the next few years we could be looking at a machine that will allows us to produce tones of product all while saving space and even power. These printers have and will continue changing our future immensely.

Hi Brian! 3D printing is something relatively new to our society and I am glad your blog is being written for me to learn more! Will you explain how a 3D printer works and why does it take so long? I heard you could 3D print with chocolate; can you look into that?! Is there anything being done to decrease product production time with these printers? What about the cost, will society ever get to a point where every school will have a few, like SmartBoards? I'll follow your blog!
ReplyDeleteHello Camelia thank you for posting a comment and for reading my blog, I have thought about explaining the printer itself and it will be explained and your questions will be answered in the next few post and as for the cost they can average around 1500$ to 4000$ as far as I've seen them go for so maybe one day when they are further developed the price could drop and we could start seeing the implemented into schools.
DeleteHi brian, 3D printing seems very interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt is really cool how anyone can make anything they want in their home instead of leaving. It saves time and money! I can't wait for these printers to become further developed and less expensive so there could be one in every home like regular printers. I look forward to reading your next posts.
