We could be seeing another Industrial revolution!

Here lies my post that is in fact the third one I make on 3D printing in this post I will be talking mainly about the comparison between the industrial revolution and what 3D printing will become and what resembles between both of them.

In this article it mentions "It was in 1909 when Henry Ford, master of efficiency and standardization, famously said that a “customer can have a car painted any color…so long as it is black.” While the First Industrial Revolution introduced machines to replace hand labor, Ford helped usher in what was ultimately the principle of mass production; using those machines to produce large quantities of standardized products — an era that came to be known as the Second Industrial Revolution" although that quote is very long I think it is necessary to get my point across we are currently seeing an incredible way of manufacturing and mass producing products while occupying very minimal space, Henry ford has shown us and proved that there are huge leaps in fabrications of products like assembly lines which were perfected by Henry Ford during the year of 1913 when they started producing the Ford model T.

During this past decade we have seen many breakouts in technology but we have never seen an invention as big as the possibility of virtually designing something and then printing a 3D physical copy. I find that people don't fully understand what's happening at this point in time if we take this into perspective if you look how massive a Ford assembly line is and how many people it takes to run it sometimes it'll result in an average of 100+ people in a assembly line for cars and if we look at how many people it'll take to just click a button to print a car and watch out I could assume maybe on average 5-10 workers will be needed to print multiple cars in ideal circumstances.

A whole company by the name of local motors has devoted there time to create 3D printed cars which they has concepts and even prototypes already printed that can drive but are not street legal. Anyways my point here is we could be experiencing another industrial revolution which may hurt the amount of jobs but will also have many pros to it including faster production less pollution and even less space taken to create the work environment.

Here is a video of the process..

Medical advancements

Here lies post number 2 of my blog this blog post will touch on a medical invention and will give info and help the reader learn about one of the most major and recent discoveries doctors have found out how to create and make 3D printed body parts and tissues. This quote from [Link] is very informative on what we really have created with these printers "3D printing isn't just for toys and models -- doctors at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine announced yesterday that they've managed to 3D print "living" tissue and organs that functioned properly when implanted in animals". I find that these kind of technological and medical leaps is what keeps us striving to continue research and keeps some unfortunate people in hope. In the article it mentions that we have already began animal trials and will most likely start human trials soon. In my opinion I think that if we are capable of printing organs and tissues it can go positively and negatively. The positives is that we will be able to help so many people that we weren't able to help before and we could offer all sorts of new types of health care. The negatives is that they can be taken advantage of in multiples ways and by that I mean they can be sold for a lot more to make profit also they can have unpredictable effects on the body. All in all I think that this invention will help so many lives in so many ways and it is the next step forward to an easier way of living, to conclude my thoughts I find this medical leap is gonna really help and gonna open a lot of doors for other doctors to do research and continue making our lives easier.

Intro to my blog on 3D printers 2016

Welcome to my blog, here will lie my ideas, thoughts and opinions of 3D printing. Along the duration of this semester I will post negatives and positives of my subject all while giving my opinion and my thoughts of what 3D printing has and will do for our society today. I have thought about 3D printers and how others perceive them, some people find they are just for little gizmos and toys but these printers on a large scale can make anything from pieces for cars or even another 3D printer. These revolutionary items come with negatives too these machine cost a hefty penny, not only that but they do take time to print just like printers of today they have taken time to perfect and we constantly find new ways of improving them as I assume will be the case with the 3D printers of today. This technological breakthrough will support and greatly improve our medical practices and our medical needs, not only can these printers make and produce prototypes they can even fasten how quickly we are capable or testing these prototypes. Older cars and machines also referred as antiques that are missing pieces that aren't produces nowadays can now start being made in your own basement! 3D printers can make it print any blueprint you give it via your computer. I find these printers can help in making our lives cheaper in the long run, imagine a world where you don't need to go to the store to purchase the missing link to whatever you could be building or fixing all you need to do is plug in your printer and in a few moments you will be given whatever you demand. In just the next few years we could be looking at a machine that will allows us to produce tones of product all while saving space and even power. These printers have and will continue changing our future immensely.
